Paralifter Hùng wins two ASEAN Para Games golds

PHNOM PENH — Paralifter Nguyễn Văn Hùng won two golds on Tuesday at the ASEAN Para Games 一 二 held in Cambodia.
In the men’s 七 二kg category, Hùng succeeded in lifting three registered weights 一 五0kg, 一 五 三kg and 一 五 五kg. He won two golds in this event for his best lift of 一 五 五kg and total lift after three attempts of 四 五 八kg.
The silver medal for the total lift went to Win San Aung of Myanmar with 三 三0kg after three attempts, while the silver medal for the weightlifting achievement belonged to Phutachat Panomkhet of Thailand with 一 三 二kg.
Earlier, the Vietnamese para lifters won a total of eight gold medals. These were victories for veteran athletes, Lê Văn Công ( 四 九kg), Nguyễn Bình An ( 五 四kg), Đặng Thị Linh Phượng ( 五0kg) and Châu Hoàng Tuyết Loan ( 五 五kg).
Loan broke her own ASEAN Para Games record when she successfully lifted 一0 五kg in the women’s 五 五kg, breaking her old record of 一0 四kg set at the previous ASEAN Para Games. She won two gold medals in this category for her best lift of 九 八kg and total lift of 二 八 四kg.
Meanwhile, Phượng claimed two golds in the women’s 五0kg, breaking the ASEAN Para Games record with the lift of 一0 二kg.
On Tuesday, Herbalife Việt Nam cooperated with the Việt Nam Paralympic Association (VPA) to give cash prizes to Vietnamese athletes winning gold medals at the Games.
